The much-talked about Eraserheads Reunion Concert is still on, despite earlier setbacks with Philip Morris (owner of the Marlboro brand). There are a lot of changes from the original plans, with the concert having to be held at The Fort in Taguig (from the original CCP grounds). Fans will also now have to pay for the tickets, and only 12 years old and above will be allowed in the concert.

Kapamilya Nikki Gil and kapuso Dingdong Dantes will be working together as hosts of the 3rd Moonrise Film Festival which features documentaries with environmental protection and preservation concepts.

The Festival will be on August 29, 2008 at the Robinsons Galleria Movieworld Cinema 3.

Due to pressures from the Department of Health, Philip Morris has conceded and cancels its sponsorship (their word is promotion) of the Eraserheads Reunion Concert which is supposed to be slated on August 30, 2008.

Philip Morris owns the Marlboro brand which it was pushing to promote for the Eheads concert.

No other than Eraserheads member Raymund Marasigan confirms in an email to a mailing list:

philip morris and its brands have pulled out from the concert.

No confirmed updates have been made whether the concert will indeed push thru despite the pull-out of the sponsor. There’s also the issue of the Php2.5 Million talent fee of each band member.

It’s all over the news that the eraserheads concert has been cancelled though official statement has not been seen on the news.  Apparently, Department of Health did not issue a permit since Marlboro is the main sponsor of the said One Night Only concert by the Eraserheads. If we recall there is law which was implemented early last month to ban all cigarrette advertisement and sponsorship in the country.  IF ONLY THERE ARE OTHER BIG SPONSORS this won’t happen.

Dingdong Dantes will be among the world’s 25 sexiest men. Reports say that the Marimar and Dyesebel actor is being considered by E! Entertainment, an international celebrity tv authority, as one of the sexiest men of the world. E! Entertainment is said to be working closely with the actor’s manager, for the list, which wil be released 3rd or 4th quarter of the year.

Former beauty queen and now certified kapamilya is happy with ABS-CBN, and will be renewing her contract again, with the network.

Reports say that Ruffa very much enjoys her stint as a talk show host, and now, as the main villainess in the soon-to-be launched teleserye, I Love Betty La Fea. Ruffa says she loves her The Buzz family, and her Betty family.

Star for all Seasons Vilma Santos will be having a movie comeback via ABS-CBN’s fim outfit Star Cinema.  Governor Vi is expected to do a movie first with John Lloyd Cruz, who had just graced the big screen via A Very Special Love. Ate Vi also is said to be doing a movie with son Luis Manzano, and megastar Sharon Cuneta.

Juris and Chin recently launched their latest album entitled, MYMP Now, produced by Ivory Records. Their first single is “Set You Free”.
