Senator Many Villar who placed third in the presidential race topped the poll expenses among all the candidates of Election 2010. With P431,557,816 in expenses, Villar was the biggest spender among nine presidential bets.
On the other hand, Senator Mar Roxas who had a very tight fight with VP-elect Jejomar Binay ranked third among all the hopeful political candidates with the biggest election expenses. Roxas spent the most with P279,351,224 among vice-presidential bets.
Here is the list of presidential and vice-presidential candidates who submitted statements of contributions and expenditures in the May 10 polls:

All the candidates are expected to submit the copy of their election expenses on or before June 24.
Reports said that the over-all expenses for this year’s election is 15 billion, P4.3 billion of which came from political advertisements of national candidates.
Atty. Ferdinand Rafanan, Comelec Law Department head, said the poll body will tap independent groups such as the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism, Pera’t Pulitika, Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants to help audit the statements of expenditures and contributions of the political parties and the candidates underneath the list.
Today is the proclamation of Aquino and Binay in Congress as newly elected president and vice-president of the Republic of the Philippines.
The canvassing of votes in the Congress for the president and vice-president position was done. Benigno “ Noynoy” Aquino III and Jejomar “Jojo” Binay got the positions respectively.
President-elect Aquino got 15,208,678 votes while Vice-president-elect Binay received 14,645,574 votes. Binay defeated Mar Roxas with 727, 084 lead.
Reports said that the canvassed votes from Davao City gave Binay edge over Roxas. There were some canvassed votes plus the null votes which were not counted because according to the canvassing committee this are not enough for Roxas to take advance in the race.
The counting of canvassed votes from Lanao del Sur, which were the last votes to count, was only for formality.
Camp of Roxas urged Congress to scrutinize the ballot boxes. However, the Joint Canvassing Committee didn’t allow that to happen.
On the other hand, Former-president Erap Estrada conceded to Aquino as the rightful winner in the May 10 elections. He offered his sincerest congratulations to Aquino and mentioned that he will continue to serve the masses in any way he can.
Philippines have a new senators as the Commission on Elections Proclaimed Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jinggoy Estrada, Juan Ponce Enrile, Pia Cayetano, Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, Ralph Recto, Franklin Drilon, Senator-elect Miriam Defensor, and Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.
These Senators are already clear winners despite of more COC still needs to be included in the final counting.
Since Noynoy Aquino made his announcement to run for the Presidential Position last year, Manny Villar can only ranked second on the survey. The Partial Unofficial results of the Presidential race even made worse for Villar as he only rank 3rd behind former president Joseph Estrada.
Today, May 9, 2010 Manny Villar admitted his defeat and congratulates Senator Aquino. He also said he will continue his fight to end poverty to many Filipinos in other ways.
