Hip-hop song artist Wyclef Jean filed his candidacy for president at the office in the Haiti’s capital city. He was accompanied by his wife and daughter.

After he has submitted the papers in the electoral office, he was crowded by his supporters. “The United States has Barack Obama and Haiti has Wyclef Jean,” he shouted to the crowd.

This ended the speculation that he opts for a political dream. He was born in Haiti but grew up in Brooklyn.

It is expected that he will be having a competitive race once approved to run in the position. He will be facing several candidates who have strong political agenda.

Jean is not the only celebrity in the race. Popular musician Michel “Sweet Micky” Martelly arrived just ahead of Jean to submit his candidacy papers.

Haiti is still in a ruined status by the earthquake happened last January 12.

Award-winning talk show host of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” will be the 4th judge of the upcoming Season 9 of the American Idol replacing Paula Abdul who resigned from the reality singing competition in the U.S. The confirmation was made by the Fox television executives and the producers as the American Idol Season 9 opens this coming January 2010. King of Pop Michael Jackson is about to be laid to rest in a private ceremony at a star-studded Forest Lawn Cemetery. The ceremony will be held Thursday ( U.S. Time ), Friday ( Philippine Time ) together with his family and friends. Two months after Jackson’s sudden death last June 25, mourners will gather for a sunset service in a mausoleum at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park, a home of celebrity graves. Neighborhood surrounding the cemetery’s entrance would be on lockdown to ensure the privacy and solemnity of the burial rites. The King of Pop will be interred inside Forest Lawn’s Great Mausoleum, an elaborate neo-classical building inspired by Genoa’s famous Campo Santo. He will be placed in a private section of the crypt that is also home to the final resting places of famous names from Hollywood celebrities.

Los Angeles chief medical examiner revealed that the King of Pop Michael Jackson died from a lethal dose of the powerful anesthetic propofol where he suffered cardiac arrest last June 25. Investigation by state and federal agencies had focused on Conrad Murray, Jackson’s personal doctor who was at his side a few minutes before he died and accused him of homicide and man slaughter. According to Los Angeles Chief Medical Examiner-Coroner Dr. Sathyavagiswaran, he reviewed the preliminary toxicology results and his preliminary assessment of Jackson’s cause of death was due to lethal levels of propofol. The document was released by the Harris County District Clerk in Houston where they raided Murray’s office on July 22. reports said that in early hours of June 25, Murray also gave Jackson doses of Valium, Ativan, and Versed.
