Bantamweight champion of the world Nonito Donaire’s homecoming after his big victorious fight will be as grand as Pacquiao’s welcome ceremony.

A motorcade awaits the Filipino pride in Manila organized by the office of Mayor Alfredo Lim which will be followed by a ceremony addressing his victory.

The date is not yet announced but the city government is already prepared anytime the boxing hero returns home.

Donaire is set to go back in the Philippines from the United States after defeating Fernando Montiel with a left hook that sent the Mexican to the canvas few turns before the end of Round 2. Thus, he garnered both the World Boxing Organization (WBO) and World Boxing Council (WBC) titles.

Montiel tried to get up but Donaire was eager to end the round, disposing of his rival with a brief flurry that caused the referee to stop the fight at 2:25 of the round.

Donaire added another knock out fight to his 25-1 standing with 18 knockouts.

Hip-hop song artist Wyclef Jean filed his candidacy for president at the office in the Haiti’s capital city. He was accompanied by his wife and daughter.

After he has submitted the papers in the electoral office, he was crowded by his supporters. “The United States has Barack Obama and Haiti has Wyclef Jean,” he shouted to the crowd.

This ended the speculation that he opts for a political dream. He was born in Haiti but grew up in Brooklyn.

It is expected that he will be having a competitive race once approved to run in the position. He will be facing several candidates who have strong political agenda.

Jean is not the only celebrity in the race. Popular musician Michel “Sweet Micky” Martelly arrived just ahead of Jean to submit his candidacy papers.

Haiti is still in a ruined status by the earthquake happened last January 12.

The film features a consummate performer working with and guiding singers, dancers, band members, choreographers, special effects creators and countless other creative members of the team as they assemble the historic concert event. Included in the movie was the never before seen videos of MJ preparing for his upcoming concert event that unfortunately ended up with his sudden death last June 25, 2009. Michael Jackson’s “This is It” movie premieres October 28, 2009, in Cinemas worldwide.

Award-winning talk show host of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” will be the 4th judge of the upcoming Season 9 of the American Idol replacing Paula Abdul who resigned from the reality singing competition in the U.S. The confirmation was made by the Fox television executives and the producers as the American Idol Season 9 opens this coming January 2010. DeGeneres will take her seat at the judge’s table after the audition rounds starts. Let’s all wait as Ellen conquers the Idol seat and mold the newest American Idol next year.

Our favorite Marvel heroes, Spiderman, X-men and the recently added Ironman, joins Mickey Mouse and other Disney characters as they buy Marvel Entertainments Inc. for about $4 Billion Dollars.The announcement was made shortly before the opening bell on Wall Street in Washington D.C. It was Disney’s biggest deal since its acquisition of animation house Pixar three years ago, that will combine the comic book giant and its huge stable of action heroes with the entertainment empire of Mickey Mouse. According to the deal, Marvel shareholders would receive a total of 30 dollars per share in cash plus approximately 0.745 Disney shares for each Marvel share they own. Meanwhile, Ike Perlmutter, Marvel chief executive sad that Disney is the perfect home for Marvel’s fantastic library of characters given its proven ability to expand content creation and licensing businesses.

Miss Russia

Ekaterina Grushanina of Russia was crowned Miss Tourism Queen Int’l 2009. The competition was held in Zhengzhou, China. She bested among 97 beauties from around the world. Other winners includes 1st Runner Up Vivian Noronha from Brazil, Safia Souare from Guinea -2nd Runner-up, China – 3rd Runner-up and French Polynesia -4th Runner-up. Meanwhile, our very own Philippine delegate Marie Razel Eguia did not make it to the competition.

Los Angeles chief medical examiner revealed that the King of Pop Michael Jackson died from a lethal dose of the powerful anesthetic propofol where he suffered cardiac arrest last June 25. Investigation by state and federal agencies had focused on Conrad Murray, Jackson’s personal doctor who was at his side a few minutes before he died and accused him of homicide and man slaughter. According to Los Angeles Chief Medical Examiner-Coroner Dr. Sathyavagiswaran, he reviewed the preliminary toxicology results and his preliminary assessment of Jackson’s cause of death was due to lethal levels of propofol. The document was released by the Harris County District Clerk in Houston where they raided Murray’s office on July 22. reports said that in early hours of June 25, Murray also gave Jackson doses of Valium, Ativan, and Versed.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg has already made her decision to sentenced RNB Singer Chris Brown after beating her ex-girlfriend Rihanna. Chris Brown was sentenced to five years’ probation, six months’ community labor and to stay away from his former girlfriend for the next five years. He will serve his sentence in his home state, Virginia and his community labor will be overseen by the police chief in Richmond. Meanwhile, the judge wanted to ensure that Chris Brown will perform physical labor instead of community service, such as mentoring young people as he will also undergo a year of domestic violence counseling. On the other hand, Rihanna did not attend the hearing.

Ms. Venezuela Stefania Fernandez bested 83 other candidates at Miss Universe 2009 Pageant held at the Bahamas. It was the second time that Venezuela has two consecutive winners in the prestigious pageant since Dayana Mendoza won in 2008. Hosted by Billy Bush and Claudia Jordan,the televised event included musical performances by Flo Rida, Heidi Montag, David Guetta and Kelly Rowland.

The much-love Paula Abdul of American Idol was reportedly quitted from the said reality singing competition. After the controversial salary increase issue, Paula Abdul will no longer reprise her job as one of the judges. According to some sources they have, there was a publicized salary increase of Ryan Seacrest and Simon Cowell for the upcoming 9th season of American Idol. Paula and her manager were demanding an increase in her salary but the Idol producers felt she was not worth what she was asking. Paula made this confirmation through her twitter account. Meanwhile, the other judge, Kara DioGuardi, confirms her return on American Idol judging panel next season.

Backstreetboys are Back! this time, they will be promoting their single from their 9th Album, “This is Us”. Their album is about to be released on October 6 while the lead single “Straight Through My Heart” are now being heard on the air. The group is now composed of only four members Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell and AJ McLean. Original member Kevin Richardson left the group on June 23, 2006 to start a family. Hitmakers Max Martin, T-Pain, RedOne, Soulshock & Karlin, Jim Jonsin and Claude Kelly helped them to write the songs for their album.
