Globe has upgraded their Duo service with Super Duo — an add-on landline number attached to your mobile phone number which enables you to make unlimited landline calls as well as unlimited mobile phone calls to any Globe or Touch Mobile number nationwide.

For an additional Php499 per month on top of your regular subscriptions, Globe Super Duo gives you unlimited phone calls to any Globe/TM phone nationwide. Price for prepaid subs is Php599 per month or Php35 per day. No need to get a Duo-activated SIM — your existing SIM card will do.

Mobile communication company, Sun Cellular launched Sun Call Home Call Card. The Call Card is an International prepaid card enables Filipino living in the US to call their loved ones in the Philippines subscribed to Sun at very affordable rates. Prepaid card comes with a 35 minutes worth of IDD calls to any Sun Cellular mobile number and can be purchased for only $5 per card abroad.

Facebook has a new companion, FriendFeed, a Silicon Valley startup which allows members to see what their friends are doing online and share content. According to Facebook,12 employees of the California-based FriendFeed Mountain View, will join Facebook and its four founders will hold senior roles on Facebook’s engineering and product teams. Meanwhile, financial details of the purchase were not disclosed. The acquisition of FriendFeed follows Facebook’s failed attempt last year to buy hot microblogging service Twitter. FriendFeed was described as a potential rival to Twitter in its ability to conduct real-time search, an area where Facebook has been seeking to expand.
