New company launched today in Makati City

Four reputable companies have joined hands to form a new venture that would give Filipinos easier access to a superb line of consumer products utilizing the most innovative leverage marketing approach.

The new company, iGEN Portal International Corp. (IPIC), will be launched today, Saturday, March 6, in elaborate ceremonies at the Rockwell Leisure Club in Makati City.

IPIC is a consortium of the iGENESYS Group, Portal Innovation Corp., Lords Will Partners Corp., and Manels Leathergoods Corp., which was awarded as the 2001 Outstanding Filipino Retailer by the Philippine Retailers Association and Department of Trade and Industry.

IPIC will distribute Manels brands such as Kilaloe, Blu Earth, Redwood, and other leading brands like Barbizon and Sportshouse in the local and global market using the innovative leverage marketing system.

Manels Leathergoods, a member of the Manels Group of Companies, is currently celebrating its 40th year as a leading distributor of high quality leader products both here and abroad. It is also one of the most successful Flipino-owned business institutions in the country.

Manels vice president Nelson V. Siggaoat is upbeat with the birth of PIC, saying, "with the technology of Portal, the leadership of Lords Will and our products, we foresee a very powerful alliance of expertise.’’

IPIC’s board of directors and officials include Danny Calso, owner of Ace Promotion and Marketing Corp., chairman of the board; Jose Paulo N. Legaspi, owner of Optimize Systems Inc., president and chief executive officer; Siggaoat, treasurer; Victor J. Daganas, vice president for sales and marketing of IPIC, treasurer; Ismael M. Bengco III, president and chief executive officer of Portal Innovation Corp., director for Systems Development; Jayme J. Jalandoni, executive of Ayala Plans Inc. and a partner of the Bank of Philippine Island, director for network development; and Florentino L. Teruel, founder and head of Apostolic Catholic Church, director.

Portal Innovation Corp. will serve as the IT provider while Lords Will Partners Corp. will be the network development group.

Festivities at the launch of IPIC will start at 3 p.m. with a motorcade, a fashion show at 6 p.m. featuring the company’s product lines, fireworks display, and raffle.
