Grabeh was first conceptualized in April of 1999 as a means of expanding the interest and fascination of the founder in the World Wide Web. The primary objective of Grabeh revolved on providing services that contain personalized content created by and for the local surfers of the Internet. Its tag line, "Your Personal Portal", was conceived to support the main thrust of the site.
 
 Grabeh initially had the URL http://grabee.virtualave.net and relied entirely on a free hosting services. It was changed to Grabeh when the founder heard the expression "Grabeh" which is usually uttered by Filipinos as a reaction to something extraordinary.
 
 Grabeh.com was finally born on May 25, 2000. Since the first time it came out, site traffic has increased which justified the need to get its own domain name and a paid hosting to better handle the growing rate of traffic.
 
 In October of 2001, Grabeh entered into an alliance with Blueleaf Media which greatly improved its overall performance and service offerings in the World Wide Web. With the strong support of its new ally, Grabeh made waves in the local scene. The same month also saw the formal launch of the site's mascot which was aptly called "Gabee". The new mascot is a mix between a dragon and a dinosaur and is fast getting the fancy of Grabeh's loyal patrons.
 
 Two months later Grabeh experienced another milestone with the overhaul of the site both in content and design. Grabeh was given a new look that is more appealing and its content relied more on the members of the Grabeh Community. A highlight of the upgrade is the introduction of Gateways, a section where Grabeh visitors can contribute articles that deal in almost any topic from school problems to politics. Grabeh.com launched its new look on New Year's Eve of 2002.
 
 After about two years of operation, Grabeh.com now boasts of a four figure ratio of visitors per month. The site has reinvented itself to become one of the leading players of Internet portals in the country all of which is capped by the personal touch of its users.
