Motion for reconsideration filed by two Philippine Heart Center officials was denied by the Quezn City Prosecutor’s Office. This was after they allegedly failed to report the death of their patient as mandated by the law. Charges for grave coercion and violation of Republic Act 3753 or Law on Registry of Civil Status had already been filed in a Quezon City court as stated by Assistant City Prosecutor Rogelio Velasco . Motion was filed by Lutgerio Torres and Rosalinda Cedilla, the hospital director and administrator of the Philippine Heart Center. This was after Eugenia Tenorio filed a complaint stated that the hospital failed to report the death of her husband, Colonel Felino Tenorio, in April 2008 to the Civil Registry. According to Eugenia, the hospital officials turned down her request to issue a death certificate of her husband because respondent Lutgerio Torres wanted her first to pay the hospital bills. Meanwhile, the respondents defend themselves saying that since the deceased man had already been buried, the issue, specifically, reporting his death to the Civil Registry and issuing a death certificate, was moot and academic.
