Bodies of the chief pilot of the ill-fated Flight 447 and a flight attendant had been retrieved from the Atlantic ocean. Based on their airline’s website, the two were among those identified in the international search operation for remains of the 228 victims and wreckage of the May 31 crash. The airline has not identified crew members by name, but a pilot’s union named the captain as Marc Dubois. The international police agency Interpol said 11 of the 50 bodies retrieved had been identified as early as this week. Among them were eight Brazilians, one with joint-German citizenship, a Brazilian-Swiss, and a British national. Retrieval operations were still going on to recover the remaining corpse of the victims.
