   I already have the first iPhone version 1.1.4…the only difference is the 3G capability but i dont need it because i use Wi-Fi at home and in our office…I just hope Globe doesnt sell it too cheap..Otherwise il switch to an HTC touch Diamond instead…..The reason i bought one is because not everyone can afford it….

   Reasons why iphone 3G is cheap:

   1. It is old technology; moore’s law states that approx every 18 months, the number of transistors being placed on an IC doubles for the same price. in short, 2x power, price remains relatively the same.

   There really isn’t much that changed on the new iphone; the significant improvements are just the GPS and the 3G, which is quite a standard technology already on smartphones today.

   2. Price cut is already old news to apple consumers considering how deliberate apple is on releasing new hardware versions of its computers from macbook air to mac pro with the same price that it was previously released (apple please stop breaking our hearts) as steve jobs have stated after the first iphone price cut, “that’s the price you have to pay for new technology” so you have the option to buy it at a premium, or wait till the price drops but not without the “tech” value dropping with it.

   3. Iphones released in the US are subsidized by ATnT, so we cant really expect to have something close to that price here in the philippines. maybe unless you are willing to hop on a 5K/mo platinum plan. sure thing is it isn’t impossible for a prepaid 16GB iphone 3G to reach Php 30K when released locally.

    as of the moment wala pang panghack sa 3g but lets get it a few days or weeks for sure meron na and the good thing even us can do the unlocking.. right now nasa mga beta stage pa yung mga testing ng panghack para sa 3g.. sa zibri pinakita na pwede nang gamitin yung 3g para sa globe using the beta hack. to get more info search mo ziphone or iphone iplus.. sila yung 2 na nagawa ng unlocker for iphone. ill give the link below kung pwede ipost dito

    note:If you have a 1.1.4 iphone never upgrade it to firware 2.0. Sa ngayon wala pang unlocking utility para sa iphone 3G. It would possibly take ziphone to hack it maybe in just 2weeks or less but to perfect the unlocking matatagalan. Apple have learned alot from the previous iphone, they wont allow any jailbreak/unlock to happen just as easy as with the previous iphone.

    hahaha! im planning to get this phone.. my mom agreed.. 299$ is cheap.. i know that price depends on what the currency and vat is.. so lets bet the 16gb model would be at 16k.. though i doubt that globe will not be the only one who will distribute the units.. i know it will be available at greenhills. that mall got everything you know? hehehe so it will be cheaper i guess.. lolz

    i guess if you buy the unit in the states it will be locked to at&t(provider) so you will need to hack it to use other networks..

    just wait for globe to distribute it. you dont need to hack the philippine version of iphone 3g since you can do it using iTunes..

    i guess one drawback for the iphone is texting.. well for me at least.. my hands kept pressing the wrong keys.. well a little adjustment wont hurt,, lolz

    its not cheap. you will see in the website that there is disclaimer. at&t will offer the 8GB for $199, but you need to subscribe to their service plan (2 years). same process will apply to other countries.

    as for that person na nagsabi na kaya sya bumili ng iphone kasi hindi afford ng iba, sobra ka boy. htc diamond. kalokohan.

    The fact is: the real price is not $199 nor $299. This price is for those who want to have a postpaid contract P2.000 to P3.000 a month. In case of prepaid alias buy iPhone without contract but still locked to Globe, its price will be $499 (P22.000) for 8Gb and $599 (P27.000) for 16GB. This how AT&T does in USA.

    I saw an iphone 3g in a mall here in the philippines… and it costs 65,000k pesos…!!!! so much for 199$ huh! i saw an add, a black market seller selling it for 55,000k… ouch.. best guess is globe will release it close to 30k..

    para di OT, iphone 3g really is expensive, and please, magbasa ng mabuti, kaya nga me ‘*’ after $199 kasi you have to get the phone with a subscription from at&t… wait for the phone to be released, wag umasa sa mga conversion rates ek-ek, i’m sure yung mga prices na sinasabi nyo hindi yan yung price sa release…

    magpabili na lang ako sa states ng iphone. mahal dito. yung 16gb na iphone dapat nasa 13k-14k lang dapat kung iconvert mo yung dollar sa peso. ang laki ng patong. may jailbreak naman para macrack ang iphone.

    reservations started last august 6, 2008. globe stopped accepting reservations yesterday (aug. 20, 2008) at 12nn.

    i made my reservation aug. 8. but then globe screwd up my reservation. so i made another resrvation via business center in alabang town center nung aug. 19. they will call tas sasabihin nila kung kelan mo makukuha ung iphone mo. hope this helps.

    gusto nyo bumaba ang prices ng mga bagong mobiles and pocket pc’s?? less interest in the product….means less demand …….then lower prices…..tapos bili na kayo!………….more hype you give a certain product….the more expensive it gets……..iphone ist gen is still expensive in saudi arabia and dealers are keeping their stocks, prices for a used one range from SR2000-SR2400 (P24,000-30,000) new one goes from SR3000-up (P36,000-up) and to note, tax-free country ito! and think what you really want in a fone you’re going to buy, not what everybody wants……….then you’ll get the best deal!!!

    Ano ba ang meron sa iPhone na yan at halos lahat kayo nagka gusto? mag aasenso kaba pag ginamit mo ang iphone na iyan? tatalino ka ba pag ginamit mo yan? Why not settle for a Phone that can call and text. At isa pa, halos lahat sa mga nag post ay magpapabili pa sa mga parents nyo. My gawd !! iiyakan nyo mga parents nyo para maging “IN” sa uso?     Dont be rip off by some of the people selling iphone 3g. There are some iphone from other countries which are deffective. That’s the reason why they sell it unlock already. Also, you will notice that most iphones which are sold have dead pixel. It is better to invest to iphone w/ warranty from apple.

    i heard from globe, they have a post paid plan for the iphone 3G but u have to pay 29K then pay 5h a month minimum for 2 yrs contract..

    i planning to buy it this dec as a gift for myself i think it’s worth a shot.. amaze ako sa specs ng phone and the features are amazing.. it’s like all in ONE.. now ain’t that great.. better to invest in something worth the prize rather than have it cheap but then end up in the loosing end..

    i got my iphone from my cousin from the US. way way much cheaper than buying it at globe. got it for $199 and that is less than php10k rather than buying it at globe with a price tag of php3+k. globe sucks for that :p

    nambobola lang yan–yong 199 dolars na iphone 3g plus 2 years contract aabot ng 1,900 dolars-yan ay kung aprobado ng AT&T yong credit line mo.
    kailangan ay gamitin mo for 30 days ang contract mo kung hindi ay magmumulta ka ng 800 dolars-lalabas na mas mahal pa sa globe ang iphone nyo.
    kung may kamaganak ka sa US na magbabayad ng contract mo sa AT&T ay pwede. O kaya huklugan mo sa kanya yong subscription sa AT&T.
    Pero wag nyo ipagyabang na 199 lang ang iphone hyo.

    apple never dropped prices usually they will sell at the same price for at least 2 years then they will update the software or new device regarding iphone 3g this summer 3.0 os for the iphone will be released per apple here’s the thread http://www.apple.com/iphone/preview-iphone-os/ and the last buzz is apple will release a low cost iphone stripped down so baka yun mas mura next year probably stay tuned

    Iphone has a lot of defects. My friend stop selling Iphone 3Gs because almost 100% of his customers went back and complained. Better buy omnia if you want touch screen. Or prefer sony ericcson Xperia. But me? im satisfied with my Nokia E71. Quick internet browsing with Wi-Fi. I can check my emails anywhere as long as i hv wireless connections. a little trouble with QWERTY keypad but this is my A-phone. The best phone ever. ;P

     Anyway it’s been 1month now since i get my iPhone 3G 8gb from Globe MOA my real plan was to get Blackberry co’z that’s the requirement of my company so I went to Globe MOA 1 day before my flight schedule to UK so I tell them what’s the purpose of the phone and the plan so I choose to get a Plan 7000 Globe and the Billing is charge to my Company i was shock when they told me that they don’t have a Blackberry and they give me an option which is iPhone 3G 8Gb my plan was 5000 now since they don’t have a blackberry in that plan I was supposed to get a iPhone 3G S 16gb – 32gb (+1000) so I ask them when is the exact availability of those unit and they answered me quickly they DON’T KNOW!! I’m so frustrated and I don’t know what to do that time so I ask globe if is it possible to give me the SIM and the unit to be followed and they answered me quickly NO so I have no choice to call my company in UK and tell them that the Globe don’t have a Blackberry that time, Thanks GOD my company provide me a Blackberry, so after having a 1week business trip I go back now here in Philippines and I ask my friends to go to MOA and ask to get a Higher Postpaid plan and ask for those Unit’s guess what globe still don’t have those Unit…so I ask my other friends to get a Lower Postpaid plan and buy the UNIT guess what they have those UNIT when you BUY it but they don’t have those unit when your plan is to have those unit for FREE….WTF GLOBE..!!!

     the reason behind why iphone is much cheaper in the US for the cost of $200 is because when you buy the iphone there is also a plan or contract for 2 years with AT&T. of course you’ll need to subscribe to it before you can buy the iphone you can’t buy it unless you have the plan. i was also trying to buy in the US because i also thought the it’s much cheaper but you got it all wrong.

     the reason behind why iphone is much cheaper in the US for the cost of $200 is because when you buy the iphone there is also a plan or contract for 2 years with AT&T. of course you’ll need to subscribe to it before you can buy the iphone you can’t buy it unless you have the plan. i was also trying to buy in the US because i also thought the it’s much cheaper but you got it all wrong.
