It’s official! John Lloyd Cruz would be playing Armando Solis in I Love Betty La Fea, the Philippine franchise of the international hit Betty La Fea.
John Lloyd will then be playing opposite long-time on-screen partner Bea Alonzo, who would be playing Betty. Others in the cast are Vhong Navarro and Ruffa Gutierrez.

With Bea Alonso set to play Betty in the hit telenovela Betty La Fea, Regine Velasquez will be playing Kim Sam Soon in the pinoy version of the koreanovela.
Mark Anthony Fernandez will be playing Regine’s love interest in the telenovela. Others who will be in the production are Tessie Tomas, Vangie Lbalan, Eugene Domingo, John “Sweet” Lapuz, Carmi Martin, Wendell Ramos, and Dr. Hayden Kho.
Kim Sam Soon will be shown on the kapuso network, GMA7.
It’s official! ABS-CBN Kapamilya network yesterday announced Bea Alonso as the Pinoy Betty La Fea. This came after controversies with Regine Velasquez resigning from GMA7’s SOP, wanting to get the role. Other actresses who were rumored to be considered as Betty are Anne Curtis (who did Kampanerang Kuba) and Kim Chui, who will be doing the Pinoy version of the koreanovela My Girl.
Betty La Fea, or “Yo soy Betty, la fea” is a telenovela from Colombia, produced by RCN network. A number of versions have already been produced in different countries, most recent of which is US’ Ugly Betty.
