CURE launched last Monday a new mobile service in the Philippines which attempts to enter the ad-supported model. Yes, that means free calls, data and SMS if you allow advertisers to send you ads.
PTB reports that U Mobile has partnered with Fring to provide additional VOIP services to subscribers. You must be 15 to 35 years old to be invited in this exclusive club.
It’s not actually free, according to YugaTech, as users are giving away their personal information to get targeted ads. Smart Comm. bought CURE for a reported $10 million last April, weeks before U Mobile was officially announced.
